SuperKid
My screen sometimes shows a "line" or artifact for a very brief moment, or sometimes the screen goes black and then comes back online and I believe this is because of static as I have a fabric chair after doing some research. The problem is, I don't know how to stop it, its getting quite bad and annoying. I have tried changing DP cables and searching for "Shielded" cables but found nothing. Is there anything I can do to shield the cable to prevent signal loss? I have also read thishttps://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/738618-display-intermittently-blanking-flickering-or-los But still clueless on what to do. Have you tried a different monitor? If its static, how is it being transferred from you, to the monitor? Have you tried a different cable?

I have a second monitor that doesn't flicker, maybe its DP is grounded differently? I have no idea how it transfers to the monitor, I have hard flooring but can't ESD transfer through the air? adrynalyne
Related, sorta. I have a short in an old computer here that I never found. Whenever static electricity was around (I live in a very dry climate), and I touched my keyboard, it would cause the machine to reboot. That was a metal chassis keyboard though and it was travelling down the USB cable. See my above story. Electricity needs a path and I don't think static is strong enough to travel that far across the open air and certainly not wood. Go get a large esd mat and sit on it
adrynalyne
You can also do what we do at times: Run a humidifier in the vicinity of your monitor.
