Infinix Note 8 unboxing and first impressions

Late last year in October, Chinese smartphone company Infinix, a subsidiary of Transsion Group, introduced the latest model in its Note series, the Infinix Note 8. The company has a large consumer base in regions like Asia, Africa and the Middle East. According to a report by Counterpoint Research, Transsion Group brands such as Itel, Infinix and Tecno held 8% of the Indian handset market share in Q3 2020.

The Infinix Note 8 features a huge 6.95-inch IPS LCD display with slim bezels and a slightly thicker chin. It has a 720 x 1640 screen resolution with a cutout for dual front cameras on the top left corner. On the back, the phone sports a quad-camera setup led by the main 64MP camera along with an AI lens, a macro lens and a depth sensor. There's also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the right side of the device.

Under the hood, the Infinix Note 8 is powered by the Mediatek Helio G80 chipset. It has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which is expandable through microSD. The 2020 Infinix flagship boasts a 5,200mAh battery paired with 18W fast charging via USB Type-C.

Currently, the Inifinix Note 8 has debuted in select regions and is priced at about $200. The price varies a little depending on the geographic location. It is likely to make its way to the Indian market considering the fact that the predecessor, Note 7, is available there. If we see an Indian release, it will probably maintain the ₹14,999 price tag of the Note 7.

You can check the price and availability of the Infinix smartphone for your region on the company's global website. A full-length review of the Infinix Note 8 is on its way but for now, you can watch our unboxing and first impressions video below.
